Maryland’s biggest block party! 

The 2023 Maryland Cycling Classic takes place over Labor Day Weekend and will be filled with many opportunities for the community to be engaged in a unique way with free participatory events and an interactive festival with local flavor while watching the world’s best cyclists from around the world compete for the Maryland Cycling Classic champion jersey.

The experience Maryland Cycling Classic will bring together people from outside the state and around the world with the local citizens for a one-of-a-kind experience that celebrates everything great about Maryland and its largest city Baltimore.

Weekend of Events

THURSDAY | August 31, 2023 | Community Enrichment Day
  • Community Enrichment Day/School Visits presented by UnitedHealthcare (Select Baltimore, Baltimore County schools)
  • Welcome Reception supported by Baltimore Area Chamber, Visit Baltimore, The Baltimore Times (Celebrating African American Achievements in Pro Cycling) (Reginald F. Lewis Museum), 6:00-7:30 p.m.
FRIDAY | September 1, 2023 
  • Ribbon Cutting for Immersive VR Cycling Exhibition Celebrates Legacy of Black Cyclist (Inner Harbor), 11:00am
  • Kick-Off Press Conference, Baltimore (Inner Harbor), 1:00 pm
  • Mayor’s Community Bike Jam (Patterson Park), 3:30 – 6:00 pm
SATURDAY | September 2, 2023 
  • Bridges of Hope (charity ride) presented by Kelly Benefits for UnitedHealthcare Children’s Fund (@Sparks, MD), 8:00 am – 1:30 pm
  • Team Introductions & Opening Ceremony presented by Visit Baltimore, Beatty Properties and Fogo de Chao (@Harbor Point), 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
SUNDAY | September 3, 2023 
  • Maryland Cycling Classic presented by UnitedHealthcare (Men’s Race)
    • Start: Baltimore County Sparks, MD (Kelly Benefits Headquarters), 12:00 pm
    • Finish: Baltimore (Inner Harbor, Pratt & Market St.), 3:00 – 5:30 pm
    • Human Performance Expo presented by Human Powered Health, Market Place between E. Pratt Street and Lombard St. 12:00-5:30 p.m.
    • Finish Line Entertainment & Demonstrations, 12:30 – 2:40 pm
